All proceeds from Dec. 1 Barros Pizza sales to help St. Mary’s

On Tuesday, Dec. 1, the Fourth Annual Doran Barro Holiday Hunger Fight will be held, with all proceeds received from open to close of business being donated to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance.

One large pizza bought at Barro’s Pizza on Dec. 1, can mean up to 70 meals provided at St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance this holiday season, according to a press release.

In 2012, Barro’s Pizza decided that the first Tuesday of every December would be dedicated to helping end hunger in Arizona with the Doran Barro Holiday Hunger Fight.

In the past three years Barro’s has raised over $400,000, which has provided over three million meals to Arizona’s hungry. Last year the Hunger Fight earned over $160,000 in less than 24 hours, the release stated.

“The Holiday Hunger Fight is very dear to my heart,” stated Regina Barro in the release. “I observed and helped my mom, Doran, every holiday season donating money, meals, and creating secret Santa bundles of presents and stockings for needy families, throughout my life.  Since becoming an adult, I do the same and include my family in giving as well.”
