Arizona REALTORS appoints new leaders, recognizes leadership

Arizona REALTORS had its annual Leadership Conference Wednesday, Oct. 17, where state and regional officers of the association were appointed for 2019 as well as the recognition of select members of Arizona REALTORS for leadership qualities and industry contributions.

Patrick Lewis, Arizona REALTORS 2019 President will officially begin his term Saturday, Dec. 1. Mr. Lewis brings more than 16 years of experience to the presidency, having previously served as the 2014 president of the Scottsdale Area Association of REALTORS, according to a press release.

He will serve with 2019 President-elect Mary Roberts, Vice President Jan Leighton and Treasurer Gary Nelson.

“Not only is Patrick a seasoned professional in this industry, but he brings a fresh perspective to our executive team,” Arizona REALTORS CEO Michelle Lind said in a prepared statement.

“His previous leadership experience and vast knowledge of the business will allow the Arizona REALTORS to grow and continue to maintain its reputation as a reliable source for real estate, education and legislation.”

Arizona REALTORS presented the 2018 Distinguished Service Award to Shelley Ostrowski, associate broker of Century 21 Action Group. This award recognizes a member who has tirelessly provided meaningful service to the association, while creating a positive impact on Arizona REALTORS, a release states.

Ms. Ostrowski, former president of the Yuma Association, has been a realtor for more than 15 years. She has served on numerous committees on the regional, state and national levels such as the Realtors Issues Mobilization Committee and the Professional Standards Committee.

Ms. Ostrowski serves on the National Association’s State and Local Issues Policy Committee and will continue through 2019.

The Vision Award recognizes a real estate practitioner who embodies the association’s vision of being the best prepared real estate practitioner with the highest standards and raises the profile of REALTORS in their community.

This award went to Mandy Neat, managing broker at Realty One Group. Ms. Neat has more than 14 years of real estate experience and has served in multiple roles with the Arizona REALTORS.

She is passionate about making a difference in her industry and community and has served on boards such as the city of Avondale’s Board of Adjustments and Capital Improvement Plan Citizens Committee.

Ms. Neat is also the treasurer of the West Maricopa County Association and serves on its board of directors.

“We are incredibly proud to honor those who have made meaningful and significant impacts throughout our industry and community,” Arizona REALTORS 2018 President Lori Doerfler said in a prepared statement.

“It has been an honor and a privilege serving as president of an association that supports such an incredible group of professionals and inspiring leaders.”
