LA Fitness to close Scottsdale 24 Hour Fitness after acquirement

One Scottsdale fitness center is to close after LA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness reached a deal in November.

On Dec. 15, LA Fitness will be closing three of the former 24 Hour Fitness clubs it recently acquired in the metro Phoenix market.

The three to be closed are:

  • 14150 N. 100th St. in Scottsdale
  • 4316 W. Bell Road in Glendale
  • 1919 N.  Power Road in Mesa

“After evaluating the club operations in the Valley, we determined that this would allow us to focus on providing each member with the widest variety of amenities and on making further investments in existing and new clubs for the area,” stated Mike Ulibarri, Fitness International regional vice president, in a press release.

All existing members of these clubs, including those who currently have only single club access, will be given access to all of the LA Fitness clubs in Arizona with no increase in their monthly dues, stated the release.

In addition, the company has been reaching out to all employees at these locations to see if they would be interested in a position at another club.

LA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness announced they completed an exchange whereby LA Fitness acquired the assets of the eleven 24 Hour Fitness clubs in Arizona and 24 Hour Fitness acquired the assets of two LA Fitness clubs in Oklahoma and one in Nebraska, according to LA Fitness’s website.
