Scottsdale start-up company, Alchemi Labs, LLC., has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds for a new line of sun hats that utilize radiant barrier material to actually reflect up to 80 percent of the sun’s heat waves.

Radiant barrier material has been used for many years, most notably, in the space industry, according to a press release. Space suits and the space craft have utilized radiant barriers to protect astronauts from extreme temperatures in space that can reach 400 degrees.

Alchemi Labs combines the radiant barrier material with ventilation techniques and moisture sweatbands to create sun hats that are literally very cool, stated the release.

Alchemi Labs is focused on creating innovative, high performance products for people that love the outdoors, according to the release.
