Russ Lyon Sotheby agent to be emcee of philanthropy event

The agents at Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty are no strangers to giving back to those in need.

Connie Colla is the perfect example of a community leader and she has been selected to serve as a master of ceremonies for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix’s “A McNight to Remember” on Nov. 14.

The event will be held at the Arizona Biltmore Resort from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Ms. Colla, based out of RLSIR’s Scottsdale Waterfront office, is a board member for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, according to a press release. She has been involved with the organization for the last three years.

This will be Ms. Colla’s third year hosting “A McNight to Remember.”

“I believe in what RMHC provides,” stated Ms. Colla. “When your child is sick, you will go to the ends of the earth to make them well. So many families have to leave work and their homes, seeking the best medical treatment in another city. It’s a huge financial burden. Ronald McDonald House wraps its arms around a family, so that they feel at home and can focus on what matters most—the health and well-being of their child.”

Ms. Colla is extremely grateful for the support she’s received from Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty for her efforts in the community.

“They love knowing that their agents are connected to the community and that we care about the people we serve and want to make Arizona even greater,” stated Ms. Colla in the release.

“We are extremely proud of Connie,” stated Todd Gillenwater, CEO of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty, in the release. “To be selected as an emcee for this gala is a tremendous honor. At Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty, we ask that our agents give back. Connie embraces this mantra and is a wonderful and integral member of our community.”

Prior to joining Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty in 2014, Ms. Colla was an Emmy Award-winning television anchor, host, and producer in major markets including Phoenix and Philadelphia, the release stated. Even during her 30-year television career, Ms. Colla had been successful in real estate investing.

After she retired from television, the decision to join Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty was not difficult.

“I knew right from the start that Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty was the place I wanted to work,” stated Ms. Colla. “We are dedicated to treating every client with the same level of excellent service, whether they are listing a $200,000 home, or a $20 million home. At the end of the day, our clients become our friends because they see how hard we work for them. We get results and that’s really rewarding.”

A “McNight to Remember” is the Ronald McDonald House Charities’ signature gala.

Last year, more than 550 of the Valley’s business and philanthropic community gathered together to raise more than $385,000. The gala this year is themed as a “Magic Carpet Ride.”

The evening includes a cocktail reception, a raffle, dinner, silent and live auctions, and an awards presentation. After the event, the Red Shoe Society, a Phoenix young professionals group dedicated to supporting the mission of the Ronald McDonald House Charities, will be hosting an after party with DJ entertainment and dancing.
