Modern Milk, the contemporary wellness center combining a breastfeeding clinic, prenatal and postnatal educational center, yoga and barre fitness studio, and mom and baby boutique, announces its one-year anniversary.

With community backing, the facility has had the privilege of supporting countless moms and families since its debut on Jan. 20, 2015.

Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Stephanie Nguyen, founded Modern Milk on the belief that encouragement for the pregnant and new mom community is imperative; and at the time, it was sparse in the Phoenix and Scottsdale market, according to a press release.

“After giving birth to two children and networking with other moms, I observed how community support for this population was lacking. I wanted women to know there was a place they could turn to for assistance with the many challenges of motherhood, from infant feeding to the postnatal body,” stated Ms. Nguyen in the release.

Ms. Nguyen’s inspiration behind the Modern Milk concept and its services is simply, “a happy mom makes a happy baby.”  Since opening, Modern Milk quickly gained popularity throughout the Valley as a “go-to” facility for Ms. Nguyen’s breastfeeding consultations and wide range of wellness and fitness services.

Within a short time, new educational classes, birthing workshops, and additional yoga and barre classes were all added to the monthly schedule as parents gravitated toward this supportive space. Modern Milk’s goal of creating a positive vibe of unity among mothers is catching on via their “NAMOMSTE” movement, a philosophy and in-house brand that specializes in athletic gear, accessories, and merchandise for the modern mom and is exclusively available in its retail space, the release stated.

Modern Milk will express their gratitude to the community with an exclusive anniversary celebration and open house from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 22. The customer appreciation event will feature Mama’s Cold Brew and Chestnut Fine Food and Provisions, as well as the following complimentary fitness classes:

  • 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. – SpeedBarre: high-energy Barre and high intensity interval training (HITT) class for a full-body cardio workout. Pre-crawling babies welcome.
  • 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – Barre: a session combining yoga, Barre and Pilates moves. Pre-crawling babies welcome.
  • 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Mommy & Me Baby Yoga: This fun class allows moms to enjoy yoga while introducing their baby to the practice. This class is ideal for babies two weeks to pre-crawling.

Registration is encouraged as spots are limited and are anticipated to fill quickly.

As part of the anniversary celebration, Modern Milk will reveal plans for its 2016 expansion. Partnering with Chestnut Fine Food and Provisions and Mama’s Cold Brew, the new, larger facility will encompass a variety of mom and baby-friendly additions to better serve growing families within the community.

Modern Milk is located at 13802 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 162. To register and for more information call 480-999-1585.
