To Be Continued, a Consignment Boutique, is celebrating its one-year anniversary. TBC opened its first boutique in Scottsdale in 2014, and caters to high-end customers looking for previously owned designer goods.

Owners Chrissy and Mitch Sayare, it has substantially exceeded revenue expectations in its first year, according to a press release.

TBC offers a highly-curated collection of designer items in an upscale boutique environment similar to New York City designer boutiques. The owners employ a knowledgeable staff, offering a high level of personalized service to their clients, be they shoppers or consignors.

According to the Sayares, they offer market-driven pricing that benefits both the consignor and the shopper. In addition to the bricks-and-mortar location, TBC sells merchandise through its website:

“We recognized that luxury consignment was a niche that wasn’t being well served in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area,” said Mrs. Sayare. “Although it started as a hunch, we are gratified to find that there is overwhelming demand for a high-end consignment boutique here. This is why TBC has had an amazing first year.”

“Because our customer base is national and building daily, the demand for our luxury products is increasing. We want to reach a larger customer and consignor base so we are really growing the ecommerce side of our business,” Sayare added.

Buying previously-owned goods at consignment shops became popular during the recession when consumers were looking for extra cash, according to the release.

“Our monthly revenue has tripled since our store opened in January of 2014,” said Mr. Sayare. “Due to popularity of the Scottsdale boutique we are planning a second location in Dallas where we expect to find similar demand.”

Some of the designers carried at To Be Continued and popular with clients include:

  • Chanel
  • Hermes
  • Valentino
  • Prada
  • Christian Louboutin
  • Azzedine Alaia

“What surprised us the most this past year was how many of our consignors became shoppers once they experienced the TBC boutique,” Mrs. Sayare said. “We carry many one-of-a-kind designer items which have attracted high-net-worth clients who initially came in just to consign their luxury goods. They are some of our best customers now.”
