Shack likes it hot! Shake Shack® has announced that it will open its first-ever Arizona location at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, at the Scottsdale Fashion Square.

Shake Shack is a critically acclaimed, modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100 percent all-natural, antibiotic-free Angus beef burgers, griddled flat-top dogs, fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle cut fries and more, according to a press release.

A fun and lively community gathering place with widespread appeal, Shake Shack has earned a cult-like following around the world.

“We’re looking forward to building a home in Arizona,” stated Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti, in the release. “This Shack will look and feel like nothing we’ve ever built. Guests can hang on our outdoor patio, turn it up with a game of foosball and great music, or chill out by the fire pit with a cold beer and ShackBurger®.”

In addition to the Shack classics, the menu will feature two location-specific frozen custard concretes: the Dust Devil (vanilla custard, peanut butter sauce, marshmallow sauce and shortbread cookie, dusted with malt power) and the CamelShack (vanilla custard, salted caramel sauce and a slice of banana cream pie from local vendor The Bakery Phx).

The Shack will also be spinning up the fan favorite Shack Attack® concrete (chocolate custard, fudge sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough and Mast Brothers dark chocolate chunks).

Guests will be able to soak up the Arizona sun on the outdoor Shack patio and sip on a selection of hand-picked wine and local craft beer from Grand Canyon Brewing Company, SanTan Brewing Company and Phoenix Ale Brewery in addition to the Shack-exclusive Shack Red® and Shack White® wine from Frog’s Leap Winery and ShackMeister® Ale from Brooklyn Brewery, the release stated.

As part of Shake Shack’s mission to Stand For Something Good®, Shake Shack will donate five percent of sales from the CamelShack concrete to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, a world-class leader in pediatric medicine. Shack team members will also volunteer at events run by the hospital.

In keeping with Shake Shack’s signature community-oriented design, the flagship Fashion Square location, designed by Studio SSMC, features a custom architectural expression. The external shade structure, inspired by Red Rock State Park and reminiscent of the original Shack in Madison Square Park, is composed of long planks made of recycled rice husks. The Shack’s interiors are clad in reclaimed materials: mushroom wood and local wood sourced from an old tobacco barn. A spacious outdoor patio features a lounge area with fire pit, foosball table and bleacher seating. The Shack has its own exterior entrance as well as access from inside the shopping center.

Shake Shack will also have two additional Arizona locations are slated to open in 2016. Shake Shack will be opening later this season in Uptown Plaza, a shopping center in Phoenix. Later in 2016, Shake Shack will deepen its Arizona roots with a new location in Scottsdale’s Kierland Commons.
