On Dec. 5, the team from Washington Federal’s McCormick Ranch and Lincoln and Scottsdale branches volunteered their time with members of their community during the Holiday Magic on McCormick Ranch, which is an annual community event put on by the local McCormick Ranch Homeowner’s Association.

In addition to volunteering their time, Washington Federal donated $500 for almost 750 glow necklaces shared with families at the event and both McCormick Ranch branch manager Lisa Shah and Lincoln and Scottsdale branch manager Traci Watkins served for one year as members of the event planning committee, according to a press release.

“We believe that the relationships we have with our local communities are as important as those we share with our customers, stockholders and employees,” stated Lisa Shah, branch manager, inn the release. “It is with this goal that the Washington Federal Foundation was founded at the national level – and ourWashington Federal Focus on Arizona’ community outreach program on the local level.”

Together, the Washington Federal Foundation and Washington Federal Focus on Arizona outreach programs work to fundraise for, volunteer with and facilitate direct giving to community-based nonprofits as well as those serving the needs of low and moderate-income individuals as well as support local business and civic endeavors that better the community as a whole.
