Campo Bello Elementary participates in ‘Love Our Schools’ day

Campo Bello Elementary School will participate in School Connect’s Love Our Schools Day 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 2650 E. Contention Mine Road.

The school community and several local businesses and organizations will volunteer time and services in order to make a difference for children who attend Campo Bello Elementary, according to a press release.

New cabinets and countertops for the art room are being donated and will be installed by Lowes Home Improvement Store No. 0792, Sun Valley Nursery is donating a tree that will be planted by Phoenix Lawn and Landscaping, LLC, and members of Shiloh Community Church, La Casa De Cristo Church, and the Phoenicia Lodge No. 58 Free and Accepted Masons will volunteer. Additionally, Lowes will provide a free Build and Grow Clinic for children.

Some of the volunteer projects at Campo Bello will include: creating an autism sensory wall, garden preparation, organizing reading materials, organizing a small clothing closet, painting number lines on sidewalks, and creating a college banner wall.

The Student Council is collecting children’s books to give to Campo Bello students prior to winter break, the release stated.

School Connect helps build partnerships by engaging the faith community and collaborating with community partners to adopt local schools.

The community is welcome to attend this free event.
