Local students compete in National Science Bowl regional competition

Three students from Scottsdale will join other Arizona students this weekend to participate in an upcoming competition to determine the team to represent Arizona in the high school National Finals of the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science’s National Science Bowl.

This year marks the 25th NSB, which the DOE Office of Science launched to interest today’s youth in pursuing careers in science and math.

The regional competition takes place March 21 at Arizona State University – West Campus, 4701 W Thunderbird Road, Glendale.

The winner of the regional competition will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in the Office of Science’s National Science Bowl April 30-May 4 and the winner of the national competition will win prizes for the team members and their schools.
