The Scottsdale Unified School District honors orchestra composed of students from all five SUSD high schools will perform a community concert under the direction of Maestro Zhang Yue from China.

The concert is to be 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Saguaro High School, 6250 N. 82nd Street in Scottsdale. The concert is free to attend and open to all community members.

The SUSD honors orchestra, in its inaugural year, is composed of talented band and orchestra students from all Scottsdale high schools, according to a press release.

Maestro Zhang Yue is a first-class national conductor, visiting scholar at Southern Utah University, chairman of the Art Committee of Henan Songs and Dances Performing Group, the musical director and conductor at SIAS University, and the standing conductor of Orchestra and Henan Province and the National Music Orchestra of Henan Province.

“The opportunity to learn from Maestro Zhang Yue is a wonderful opportunity for SUSD musicians,” stated Michael Miller, SUSD K-12 Fine Arts Academic Coach, in the release. “All community members are invited to enjoy the performance.”
