Back-to-school for many children, also means having to endure peer pressure to sample drugs and other illegal substances.

notMykid encourages parents to consider home drug-testing as part of a family substance-abuse prevention plan.

The organization is kicking off its national “Back to School” substance-abuse prevention campaign by teaming up with First Check to bring substance-abuse prevention tools to families and communities in 13 cities across the United States.

Residents can pick up a free home-drug testing kit  8 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 4 at the notMYkid office, 5230 E. Shea Blvd., Suite 100, Scottsdale.
