Scottsdale cadet graduates from Virginia Military Institute


Kylen C. Schmidt of Scottsdale was one of 317 cadets who graduated May 16 from the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va.

Kylen received a bachelor of arts degree in English with a writing concentraton.

Graduating honors include the Asa S. Dearing Medal, Distinguished Graduate, Institute Honors, Distinguished Military Grad and Army Commission.

Cadet Schmidt’s parents are Mrs. and Mrs. Charles C. Schmidt.

VMI, which has an enrollment of more than 1,600 cadets, is the nation’s oldest state-supported military college.
