Scottsdale Schools Governing Board approves Dr. Birdwell contract

The Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board, in a special meeting Jan. 15, unanimously approved the interim superintendent contract with Dr. Denise Birdwell.

Dr. Birdwell’s start date is Jan. 19, ending June 30, according to a press release.

“The Governing Board welcomes Dr. Birdwell during this important transitional period for our District,” stated Governing Board President Bonnie Sneed, in the release. “We look forward to working with her as we continue important initiatives such as the 2020 Strategic Plan, election initiatives, budget process, and the search for a new superintendent.”

The SUSD Governing Board also unanimously approved the issuance of a request for proposal for consulting services to assist in the search for a new Superintendent.
