Scottsdale Schools to host foreign language success event

The Scottsdale Unified School District invites students, teachers, parents and community members to a Strategic Languages for Career Success: Mandarin Chinese, Japanese and Russian event.

The SUSD World Languages department will the event at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, in the Saguaro High School library and media center, 6250 N. 82nd St.

The event is to include 6-8 guest speakers and break-out sessions discussing career possibilities in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese and Russian–three language offerings deemed strategic by the U.S. Department of State, according to a press release.

This event is open to all current and future Mandarin Chinese, Russian and Japanese students and their parents as well as interested community members.

Students in the SUSD have the opportunity to select from seven world language courses including:  French, German, Japanese, Latin, Mandarin Chinese, Russian and Spanish.
