The Arizona Interscholastic Press Association awarded Brophy College Prep High School’s school newspaper, “The Roundup,” first place in its 2015 Newspaper General Excellence contest as well as first place in its 2015 Multimedia General Excellence contest.
The AIPA, the state’s largest scholastic press organization, announced the honors at its annual journalism convention Oct. 27 at ASU.
In addition to the more than 30 awards received by Brophy student news staff, Brophy senior and Scottsdale resident Reece Krantz received the following awards:
- Excellent Award in Staff Editorial, along with Chase Manson ’16, for “Social media can be beneficial to democracy.”
- Honorable Mention in Review Writing for “NHL boasts enhanced graphics, lacks core mechanics.”
- Honorable Mention in Feature Story for ”Teachers spread Brophy ideas through off campus activities.”
