Notre Dame Preparatory in partnership with Vi at Silverstone, will bring generations together in celebration of the arts at its annual Art Showcase and Open House 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Monday, March, 21 at Vi at Silverstone, 23005 N. 74th Street in Scottsdale.

Hailing the talent of NDP high school artists, the art showcase is a judged competition by Vi residents, according to a press release. Students show painting, drawing, ceramics, digital photography, digital arts and design, 3D art, design-sculpture and mixed media art that they have created in NDP fine arts classes.

“This creates such a fun buzz in the community,” stated Kim Bankofier, community relations manager at Vi at Silverstone and NDP parent, in the release.

In the past, residents at Vi have enjoyed choosing their favorite artwork and “it is especially fun when the residents get to meet the artists themselves,” Ms. Bankofier stated in the release.

Several of NDP’s outstanding performing artists, including actors, singers and musicians, will provide the afternoon’s entertainment.

It was Ms. Bankofier who brought the idea to her coworkers at Vi, confident that the students would display the values NDP teaches of humility, love and wisdom.

“This is a wonderful way to rethink teenagers of today and truly see some of their great talent,” she stated in the release.

This is the fourth year Vi at Silverstone has opened its doors to the Notre Dame Preparatory Arts Program, students and their families.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to bring generations together in support of the arts,” stated Lyric Naquin, director of advancement at NDP, in the release.

This year, Claire Carter, curator of contemporary art from Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, will serve on the art selection jury with Vi residents. Kim Crosby, development manager at SMOCA will also join in the event.
