On Jan. 7, the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board elected Bonnie Sneed as president and Barbara Perleberg as vice president, according to a district press release.

“I am truly honored to be entrusted with the opportunity to serve as President of the SUSD Governing Board for the fourth year. We have several important initiatives in the works, including searching for a new superintendent, and I hope to offer stability with growth during the next year,” stated Mrs. Sneed in the release.

Reorganization of the Governing Board occurs once a year at the first meeting in January.

“It is truly an honor to serve the District my family has called home for three generations in this capacity.  Our focus is clearly on the future, and I am committed to a culture of honest communication and collaborative, inclusive efforts that will mend, strengthen, and clearly define the path our District needs to be on for the continued success of our students and the pride we share in SUSD.  Thank you for the privilege,” stated Mrs. Perleberg in the release.

This is the first time that Mrs. Perleberg has served as Vice President.
