“I am honored and humbled to be recognized as a Rodel Exemplary Principal. Rodel is an incredible organization, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve with them,” she said in a press release.

“I am so blessed to share this honor with SUSD and my amazing school community who work so hard each day to support our students’ success. I’m truly proud of all the great things Pima Elementary School has accomplished and am blessed to lead and learn alongside my incredible staff and students.”

The finalists have been through a rigorous process to reach this point.

Each was nominated by his or her district superintendent. Researchers then reviewed the nominees, examined school data, visited campuses, interviewed the candidates, and met with teachers and staff.

“We are extremely proud of Amy for being selected as a 2015 Rodel Foundation Exemplary Principal. Amy received $1,500 and will mentor an aspiring principal for two years,” said Dr. Dave McNeil, executive director of Elementary Education.
