Wright named director of Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services

An educator who is a retired Arizona Air National Guard officer will be the first female director of the state Department of Veterans’ Services.

Gov. Doug Ducey’s office announced his appointment of Wanda Wright on Tuesday. She’s been vice principal of Montessori Academy since 2011 after serving in senior staff positions in the Air Guard.

Ms. Wright previously served with the Guard’s 162nd Fighter Wing in Tucson, including as executive officer.
