ADOT issues weekend travel advisory for Scottsdale motorists

Arizona Department of Transportation has issued a weekend travel advisory through Monday, March 25, warning motorists to use more caution.

According to a press release, drivers are advised to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling in designated work areas. The travel routes and detours are as follows:

Westbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) is closed between Pima Road/Princess Drive and Scottsdale Road for placing a temporary barrier and lane-stripe adjustments as part of a freeway widening project.

While drivers can expect heavy traffic, alternate routes include taking westbound Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and re-entering the freeway at Scottsdale Road, 56th Street, Tatum Boulevard or State Route 51; and exiting Pima Road/Princess Drive, traveling north on Pima Road, west on Thompson Peak Parkway and south on Scottsdale Road to re-enter Loop 101.

Delays and closures will occur from 10 p.m. Friday, March 22 to 5 a.m. Monday, March 25, according to the release.

Additional weekend freeway restriction information is listed at under ADOT News.
