Photos: Opening day at Barrett-Jackson Car Auction in Scottsdale

Spectators rolled into the opening day of the 45th Barrett-Jackson World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions® on Jan. 23, at WestWorld of Scottsdale to view some of the most sought after vehicles.

With over 1,500 collectible and rare cars, the auction will be running through Jan. 31. Two exceptional collectibles crossing the block include a 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540K and Boyd Coddington’s “The French Connection,” a 1938 Lincoln Coddington V12 HEMI.

In addition, up for sale at No Reserve is the iconic truck, Optimus Prime (Lot #1325.1), featured in the first three Transformers films. Director Michael Bay has also consigned a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS (Lot #1325.2), which was cast as Bumblebee in the latest film, “Transformers 4: Age of Extinction.”
