Scottsdale residents and Cake Doll owners Heather Walker and her mother Debbie Knaeble are featured bakers on the Discovery Family Channel.

An episode airing 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, the mother-daughter duo will compete in the series Bake It Like Buddy, featuring “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro, according to a press release.

In the episode entitled, “Sandcastle Cakes,” the Scottsdale bakers battle against another mother and daughter team from Texas as they are tasked to create a sandcastle-style cake in four hours, the release said.

Contestants are vying for a chance to win a cash prize, professional baking supplies and bragging rights, the release stated about the two baking teams in a bake off at Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey.

The contestants range from professionals to beginning chefs and “passionate weekend bakers,” being challenged and judged according to creations, design, flavor, technique, finish and following central themes like unicorns, sci-fi, 3D, Halloween and more.
