Aloe Blacc to headline Phoenix Suns fundraiser in Scottsdale

Phoenix Suns Charities’ annual gala, The Jump Ball, presented by Annexus, will be headlined by Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, Aloe Blacc, on Friday, Feb. 27 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess.

Guests will also enjoy appearances by the entire Suns team and coaching staff, dancing, entertainment by DJ Dean Michaels, dinner, a silent auction and more.

The gala begins at 6 p.m.

The set followed up Blacc’s collaboration as vocalist and co-writer on well-known DJ/producer Avicii’s track “Wake Me Up,” a song that hit the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on its Hot Dance Club Songs and Dance/Electronic Songs charts, as well as topping charts in more than 100 countries.

Blacc’s single “The Man” topped the charts and with more than 2.4 million singles sold.

Blacc spent the summer out on a U.S. tour with Bruno Mars in support of “Lift Your Spirit” and made his acting debut in “Get On Up,” the James Brown biopic. “Lift Your Spirit” received a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album.

In addition to Aloe Blacc’s performance, South Florida-based DJ, Dean Michaels, will entertain guests with his own creative blend of audio content.

Guests will have the opportunity to bid on exclusive live auction items and experiences, including a unique, Suns-branded Rally Fighter, co-built by Phoenix-based Local Motors.

Guests are encouraged to bid early by texting “Suns” to 95577. Upon texting “Suns,” bidders will receive a link to a mobile webpage where they can place their bid.

Bidding starts at $100,000 and increases in $2,500 increments. The bidding will end at noon on Friday, February 20. Bidders can view the rally fighter being built here.

The winning bidder from the text-to-bid will earn two complimentary tickets to attend The Jump Ball, where their bid will open the live auction for the Rally Fighter. The Rally Fighter auction package also includes two Playmaker Club passes for all home Suns games, along with lower-level season tickets for the 2015-16 season.

For the seventh consecutive year, Annexus is the sponsor of the gala. As a dedicated partner to Suns Charities, Annexus aims to assist the needs of children and their families throughout Arizona.
