Birds — not butterflies — take center stage this weekend at Wonderland

The “Birdman Shows” return this weekend to Butterfly Wonderland, 9500 E. Via de Ventura, Scottsdale.

The “Birdman Shows” feature professionally choreographed shows that include trained condors and cassowary birds flying over crowds in ways that thrill and impress.

Shows are scheduled 1 and 3 p.m. April 18 and 19.

The shows also include a variety of other winged friends such as parrots, African eagles, cranes, pelicans, Nornville and more.  The shows will take place in a designated outdoor area of the Butterfly Wonderland and are complimentary with the price of the admission tickets.

The program is presented by Birds N Beasts, a portable bird show with positive reinforcement-based programs that feature condors and cassowary along with a wide variety of other exotic and trained flying birds.

Joe Kranthwohl, “The Birdman,” is Las Vegas-based and has performed in shows for the National Geographic Center and Grand Canyon’s South Rim and more.
