In addition to Shrek, he starred in Big Fish Les Miserables, and On the Twentieth Century with Kristin Chenoweth.

“We are thrilled to host the extraordinary Ben Crawford at Desert Stages and are so grateful for his love of our theatre,” Laurie Cullity, Desert Stages co-founder and executive and artistic director said in a prepared statement.

“The support of the community and the generosity of people like Ben are getting us closer and closer to our new home within Scottsdale Fashion Square.”

After 11 years in its current location, Desert Stages will move in early 2017 to its new theatre space previously occupied by Harkins Theatres in Scottsdale Fashion Square. Funds raised in Desert Stages’ Next Stage campaign will go towards renovations to turn the space previously used as movie theaters into a world-class performing arts theatre, complete with two theatre spaces, expanded classrooms and new light and sound packages.

Tickets cost $50. Proceeds will benefit the theatre’s Next Stage capital campaign. Go to or call 480-483-1664.
