Chonda Pierce to bring night of laughter to Scottsdale Oct. 13

Emmy-nominated comedian Chonda Pierce is set to bring her “Happily Laugher After” tour to Scottsdale’s Highlands Church, 9050 East Pinnacle Peak Road, at 7 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 13.

A best-selling female comedian, Ms. Pierce will deliver an uplifting and encouraging night of joy and laughter, armed with her unpretentious Southern charm and laser sharp wit, according to a press release. The evening will also feature special guest acclaimed singer/songwriter Karyn Williams.

A Christian humor trailblazer, television hostess, author and actress, Ms. Pierce has channeled her life experiences into positivity, bringing laughter to audiences around the country for more than two decades.

The Recording Industry Association of America’s best-selling female comedian of all time, Ms. Pierce has earned five Daytime Emmy Award nominations and is ranked among Pollstar’s top-selling live performers with six Platinum DVDs and three Gold DVDs to her credit, the release stated.

Last fall, “Chonda Pierce: Laughing in the Dark” made its one-night box office premiere in more than 125 theaters nationwide. Now available on DVD from Sony Pictures, the documentary is a deeply personal glimpse into Ms. Pierce’s life. Chronicling a series of tragic circumstances, including the loss of her husband, Ms. Pierce hopes to inspire and encourage others with her story. The film recently took home the Documentary Feature trophy at the inaugural Park City International Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
