‘Cops Shred It Day’ to be Jan. 23 in Scottsdale

POSA, the Police Officers of Scottsdale Association, is hosting a shred event, Cops Shred It Day, 7 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Wal-Mart, located at 15355 N. Northsight Blvd.

This event will provide community members with a safe and secure resource to shred their confidential personal and business documents, serviced by Shred-It.

“Identity theft is a growing threat for individuals and businesses across the nation,” stated POSA Vice President, Darlene Cook, in a press release. “This trusted event continues to bring awareness of proper document management to the community and provide them with a secure method to safely dispose information. More importantly, it will provide individuals with the peace of mind that their sensitive information will not end up in the wrong hands.”

During the event, anyone can bring their documents in and have them shredded by an on-site, certified Shred-It employee. From drop-off to destruction, all documents will be constantly monitored and protected, the release stated.

Shred-It provides cost-effective document shredding, storage and imaging programs. Its services are designed to provide businesses with data privacy and security, compliance with regulatory requirements and greater control and access to information.

The suggested donation is $3 per box, to benefit POSA Outreach and our charitable events.
