Dunkin’ Donuts to thank holiday blood donors with free donuts

United Blood Services and Dunkin’ Donuts are ramping up efforts to increase blood donations around the Memorial Day holiday.

Roll up your sleeve at any blood drive or donor center May 22 – 29 and receive a voucher for a complimentary half-dozen donuts (valid only at participating metro-Phoenix locations), courtesy of Dunkin’ Donuts, according to a press release.

Blood donations can decline by up to 25 percent during holiday weeks, but heavy traffic on the roads and highways can increase the potential for accidents and the need for blood. While donors of all blood types are needed, O-negative is always in greatest demand, according to the release.

Appointments are recommended. Call 1-877-UBS-HERO (1-877-827-4376) or visit www.BloodHero.com. The donation centers near Scottsdale are:
