Free dance concert by Scottsdale Community College on May 1, 2

Scottsdale Community College‘s dance program presents “Kinetic Connections,” a free concert performed by SCC’s three resident dance companies at 8 p.m. Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2.

The concert will be in the Performing Arts Center at SCC, 900 E. Chaparral Road in Scottsdale.

In the tradition of exciting SCC dance productions, Kinetic Connections will offer works in many dance styles that showcase athletic and artistic brilliance.

This all-ages concert will be an inspirational evening of entertainment.

The performing companies will be:

  • Instinct Dancecorps, performing works by faculty members Angela Rosenkrans and Carley Conder, as well as guest choreographers Mike Esperanza, Jenny Gerena, and Holly Johnston;
  • SCC Moving Company, performing works by faculty members Karryn Allen and Lisa Thorngren, and guest choreographer Steven Conrad;
  • Scottsdale Arizona Jazz Ensemble (S.A.J.E.), performing works by faculty member Jennifer Rhea McKusick and guest choreographer Annie Kim.

The SCC dance program is the largest among all Maricopa Community Colleges. Each year, SCC dance attends the prestigious collegiate American College Dance Association Conference, where it has been selected for the final gala performance 10 times since 2000.

The Scottsdale Independent is published monthly and mailed to 75,000 homes and businesses in Scottsdale.
