Goodguys is geared up for another season of Cool Cars, Cool People and Goodtimes as the 10th Spring Nationals comes to WestWorld of Scottsdale, 16601 N. Pima Road, set to run from March 15-17.

The event will feature 2,500 candy colored and chromed hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars and trucks. The cut off year for the event is for vehicles up to 1987, opening the event to later model Square body trucks, Fox body Mustangs Firebirds and more.

Along with the car show, there will be AutoCross racing, great food, music, exhibits and entertainment, according to a press release. A new event this year is the burnout competition on March 16.

Other highlights of the event will be the PRO X class and the new shootout format for Saturday. The sound of rubber meeting pavement will fill the air as competitors in the Goodguys AutoCross, a closed performance race course, vehicle speed and agility meet to battle it out in a weekend-long fastest-car-wins contest of speed and skill. Each event will feature two eight-car field shootouts.

There will be one shootout event including the drivers in PRO and PRO X, and one for the drivers competing in street, machine, hot rod and truck. The winners of the two shootout events will advance to the Duel in the Desert AutoCross finale in November back at WestWorld.

The special feature parking areas will have the Lowrider Showcase and the Air-Cooled Coral. Other area include the Mighty Muscle area, Homebuilt Heaven, Ya Gotta Drive ‘Em — for those who drove 300 miles one way to the event — the Trick Truck corral.

The Goolsby Customs Youngguys area is a platform for those car enthusiasts 25 and younger to show off their builds and creativity, a release states.

There will also be a midway featuring custom big rig tractor trailers offering high-performance parts and accessories for sale. A used car parts swap meet will also be available.

The event will also feature several children events such as PPG coloring contest, face painting, arts and crafts, costumed characters and other kid’s games.

All American Sunday on March 17 invites owners of American made or powered show cars and trucks of all years to be a part of the event to show off next to the 1987 and earlier iron. All American Sunday participants are eligible for awards and can join in the AutoCross Sunday.

Added to the Sunday program, an eight-car AutoCross shootout event for the late model registered vehicles. Registration for All American Sunday takes place starting at 7 a.m. Sunday, March 17
