The Fountains Hills Theater will be putting on a heartwarming musical about the joys of growing up, “Dear Edwina, Jr.” through May 1.

Written in a “show-within-a-show” format, “Dear Edwina Jr.” is the perfect “girl power” musical for a new generation, according to a press release. “Dear Edwina, Jr.” follows the adventures of plucky advice-giver extraordinaire Edwina Spoonapple as she directs the neighborhood kids in a series of buoyant production numbers for the latest edition of her weekly “Advice-A-Palooza.”

Edwina and her friends share wisdom on everything from trying new foods to making new friends through clever, catchy and poignant songs.

“Dear Edwina, Jr.” is being directed by high school seniors Katie Male and Haylee Klein; choreographed by Jenny Iverson; and produced by Anne Kelleher. Performances take place at Fountain Hills Theater, 11445 N. Saguaro Blvd., in Fountain Hills. Ticket prices are $18 for adults and $15 for youth ages 17 and under. Student and veteran discounts and group rates available.
