The Herberger Theater Art Gallery will be showcasing “Momentum,” a special exhibit of art, May 1-31.

“Momentum” includes various series that artist Heather J. Kirk has created and incorporated in her recent role as guest curator at the Herberger Theater.

Ms. Kirk has worked to create a variety of pieces within a concept and the importance of the placement and pairing of art pieces to create perceptions, while still allowing for the beholder to find beauty and meaning.

“At the most basic, yet important level, what I do as an artist is ‘see’; being present, noticing, and documenting life as it has always been, yet in such a way that leads others, if they so choose, to take notice and find meaning,” said Ms. Kirk.

“Momentum” will be on display and available for purchase through May 31.

The public is invited to attend the free opening reception 5:30-7 p.m. on Friday, May 1, at the Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe in downtown Phoenix.

Meet the artist, enjoy music by singer/songwriter Michael Land, and a no-host bar in Bob’s Spot Lounge. Park for $4 at the Arizona Center (Fillmore, just west of 5th St.) after 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Purchase validation at the Herberger Theater Box Office before the reception.

The Scottsdale Independent is published monthly and mailed to 75,000 homes and businesses in Scottsdale.
