Reception sets stage for March art tour, sale

The 8th Annual Tour d’ Artistes Studio Tour and Sale will take place the first weekend in March when the public will have the chance to meet local artists and watch them work.

The event will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday-Sunday, March 1-3, at artists’ studios throughout Fountain Hills.

A pre-tour reception to meet the participating artists and preview their work will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Fountain Hills Artist Gallery, 16858 Avenue of the Fountains.

“What started with a small group of passionate artists has grown into an annual event, 15 studios and galleries with over 60 artists,” according to a release.

“During this free event, the public will have the opportunity to interact with local artists and observe them in the process of creating original artworks,” the release stated.

There will be a variety of art media, including painting, mixed media, glass, metal sculpture, digital photography, fiber art and jewelry available for purchase.

Those who visit all the studios and galleries can be eligible to win a $150 gift certificate toward the purchase of art from one of the participating artists.
