Scottsdale Adapted Recreation Services offers summer activities

The Scottsdale Adapted Recreation Services programs are designed for people with disabilities wanting to get involved in their community. Community integration programs, adapted sports leagues, leisure education class accommodations and after school programs are just a few options offered by ARS.

Please Note:

  • All participants must have an Adapted Recreation form on file with Adapted Recreation Services prior to participating in the program.
  • Adapted Recreation programs are for participants 16 and up who can take care of their self-help needs. A personal aide may attend at no charge for participants requiring personal/intrusive services. Please call for more info.

Spectacular Saturday Club:

1-8 p.m. every Saturday except holiday weekends and unless otherwise noted.

Adapted Recreation Services Center – 8102 E. Jackrabbit Road.

$20 per Saturday (additional money may be needed for weekly excursions). For online registration, see weekly course codes below.

ARS participants ages 16 and up

Sign up early! If there are not 15 participants registered by the preceding Wednesday, the program will be cancelled and refunds will be issued for that week.

Saturday Night Dances:

6-8 p.m. on the second Saturday of the month.

Adapted Recreation Services Center, 8102 E. Jackrabbit Road.

$2 at the door unless otherwise noted.

ARS Participants ages 14 and older.

No pre-registration or pre-payment is required to attend. All participants must bring a photo ID

Challenger Space Museum:

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 20

Vans will be leaving at 10:30 a.m.

Free.

Scottsdale Bobcats Aquatics

Saturdays-beginning July 25

Eldorado Pool, 2301 N. Miller Rd. in Scottsdale.

Free.

All teams participate in regular practices, an area tournament and the state tournament at the end of the season.

  • Junior Team – Course Code: 113387
    • 10-11 a.m.
    • ARS participants ages 8-15
  • Adult Team – Course Code: 113386
    • 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
    • ARS participants ages 16 and up

Scottsdale Bobcats Golf

Mondays beginning Aug. 15

TPC Scottsdale Champions Course, 8243 E. Bell Road in Scottsdale.

Free.

All teams participate in regular practices, an area tournament and the state tournament at the end of the season.

  • Skills Team – Level 1 – Course Code: 113388
    • The Skills Team is for athletes with no prior golf experience who are seeking to develop their skills.
    • 5-7 p.m.
    • ARS participants ages 8 and older
  • Unified Team Athlete – Level 2 – Course Code: 113389
    • This course code is for Bobcats Athletes with prior golf experience and skills who are able to play 9 holes with a Unified partner.
    • 5-7 p.m.
    • ARS participants ages 16 and up
  • Unified Team Partner – Level 2 – Course Code: 113390
    • This course code is for Unified Partners with prior golf experience and skills who are able to play 9 holes with a Scottsdale Bobcat Athlete.
    • 5-7 p.m.
    • ARS participants ages 16 and up
