The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art invites families to see the museum transformed by local street artists and dancers for SMoCA Family Mix 12-3 p.m. on Sunday, May 10.

According to a press release SMoCA’s galleries will be interactive environments, full of murals, projections and music, and will inspire each participant to dance and be dazzled by the large scale artwork.

According to a press release unique arts and crafts activities will include customized skull masks in the style of characters in the murals and participate in a community mural.

Other activities include using stencils and neon color to make a card for Mom that glows…and making tiny skateboards. The afternoon also features temporary tattoos, neon bracelets, and tasty treats from local food trucks.

The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art is at 7374 E. Second Street in Scottsdale.

The Scottsdale Independent is published monthly and mailed to 75,000 homes and businesses in Scottsdale.
