Scottsdale Gallery Association, in proud sponsorship with the Salvation Army, presents a special holiday ArtWalk – The Art of Giving – 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10.

Featured will be local, national and international art at over 40 galleries in Old Town Scottsdale along with live music, artist receptions, a strolling Santa, The Grinch and other festivities, according to a press release.

Look for the blue “ArtWalk the Line” insignia on sidewalks along Main Street and Marshall Way for participating venues.

Businesses participating in The Art of Giving is to include:

Xanadu Gallery, 7039 E. Main Street Suite 101 (original) and 7137 E. Main Street

  • New figurative bronze and clay sculptures by Lorri Acott, as well as desert landscape and garden oil paintings by John Horejs. Both artists will be at the gallery to meet collectors 7-9 p.m.

French Designer Jeweler, 7148 E. Main St.

  • Special Appearance Show for designer Carolyn Tyler. Adventurous anthropologist and archaeologist of Bali, known for her signature creations of brilliant jewels in glowing gold that echo the buried treasures of the past, returns to Arizona with her newest collection, just in time for the holidays. Serving white wine and cheese with crackers.

Andre Kohn Fine Art, 7034 E. Main St.

  • Opening reception night from 6 to 9 p.m. for contemporary, mixed media works by guest artist Svetlana Shalygina. New paintings and drawings by Andre Kohn will also be featured, and both artists will be present for the show. A live violinist will perform. Champagne will be served.

Amery Bohling Fine Art, 7100 E. Main St.

  • Award-winning artist Amery Bohling, known for her awe-inspiring beauty of our Southwestern landscapes, will provide a live demonstration of a studio ‘plein air’ painting. Visitors can watch as Bohling paints an original work, entitled “Holiday Art,” which, upon completion, will be available for sale at a special holiday price $199.

Touchstone Gallery, 4168 N. Marshall Way

  • Selection of small, framed fish fossils that make the perfect gift for the holidays and that hard-to-shop-for person on your list. Each of these small treasures includes the certificate of authentication, made out to the gift recipient, along with a gift box and custom “fossil themed” gift wrap and gift tag.
