Sound of Motown charity event to come to Scottsdale

0805TPV Entertainment (Chaney New Pics)The Sound of Motown event will be 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6, at The Venue, 7117 E. 3rd Ave. in Scottsdale. Doors are to open at 5 p.m.

The event will be providing scholarships to youth attending high school program at the Salvation Army Kroc Crop Center in Phoenix and providing scholarships to the family members of Metcalf Collins Johnson, according to a press release.

The Salvation Army is also in need of athletic gear for their after school program.

The Legendary G.C. Cameron (former lead singer of The Spinners and Temptations) will be bringing the sounds of Motown.

G.C. Cameron is known for his No. 1 hit, “It’s A Shame,” and “It’s So Hard To Say Good Bye To Yesterday,” from the classic motion picture “Cooley High.”
