The Super Bowl may be played in Glendale, but Scottsdale will host its own celebration of the Big Game — featuring live broadcasts by ESPN — Jan. 26-Feb. 1 at Scottsdale Fashion Square.

Scottsdale Fashion Square will host Fan Fest Scottsdale, presented by Cox Communications, in partnership with the City of Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Fan Fest Scottsdale will be an entertainment destination for thousands of fans through Super Bowl Sunday, and is designed to offer exciting experiences where football, food, fashion and fun meet.

ESPN will broadcast live from the outdoor site, which is just north of Scottsdale Fashion Square, for the entire week leading up to the Big Game.

The week-long fan celebration presented by Cox will be free and open to the public. The event will offer visitors unique activities, cooking demonstrations and competitions, mixology demos and plenty of food and beverages throughout the day.

In addition, fans will enjoy rallies and sporting competitions, games and entertainment.

Fan-shionistas can experience a fashion show hosted by Off the Field Players’ Wives Super Bowl Fashion Show as well as The Fifth Quarter Fashion Show showcasing international and celebrity designers from London, Dubai and Mexico City, both benefiting local charities.

Macy’s and other Scottsdale Fashion Square retailers will host shows throughout the week as well. For a full list of events throughout the week, visit www.fanfestscottsdale.com.

“Situated in the heart of beautiful Scottsdale, Scottsdale Fashion Square offers the ideal setting for all fans,” said Emily Ginzl, senior marketing manager for Scottsdale Fashion Square.

“Beyond the exciting Fan Fest Scottsdale, the shopping destination itself is a tremendous visitor attraction. Ranked among the Top 10 shopping destinations in the entire country and boasting over 11 million annual visitors, Scottsdale Fashion Square offers the perfect blend of retail, dining and entertainment.”

“Cox is excited to be part of this one-of-a-kind event for residents and visitors alike. Through our Cable Wifi hot spots located throughout the Valley, we hope to help keep people connected while they are enjoying the festivities,” said Susan Anable, vice president of public affairs, Cox Communications Southwest.

Engaging brand experiences for Fan Fest Scottsdale guests will be provided by sponsors including Chobani, Chrysler, Coca-Cola, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Dole, Maui Jim, Sparkling Ice and others.

“Major brands are coming together at Fan Fest Scottsdale to help thousands of people celebrate the big game in style – with fun product demos, tastings, games, giveaways and much more,” said David Madrid, assistant vice president, Business Development for Macerich.

ESPN’s coverage will begin 4 a.m. local time on Monday, Jan. 26, with Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic hosting ESPN Radio’s national morning show Mike and Mike (also simulcast on ESPN2).

Other daily shows that will originate from Scottsdale include: multiple editions of SportsCenter, ESPN Radio’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd (8–11 a.m. local/simulcast on ESPNU) and SVP and Russillo with Scott Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo (11 a.m.–2 p.m. local/simulcast on ESPNEWS), NFL Insiders (1 p.m. local, ESPN) and NFL Live (2 p.m. local, ESPN).

The week will culminate on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1, with ESPN’s special four-hour edition of Sunday NFL Countdown, and the post-Super Bowl game SportsCenter, recapping all the highlights and big plays from the NFL’s championship game.

“After nearly two years of planning, we are thrilled to be just a week away from making Scottsdale Fashion Square our ESPN home for Super Bowl in Arizona,” said Seth Markman, ESPN’s senior coordinating producer for NFL studio shows.

“We will kick off our coverage bright and early on Monday, Jan. 26, and we expect great weather, a picturesque backdrop and hopefully big crowds all week with Fan Fest Scottsdale just a quick screen pass from our set.”

Fan Fest Scottsdale will be active from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, Jan. 26-30, and Saturday, Jan. 31 from 8 a.m.–8 p.m. and Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon.
