Teenage pianist to open Living Music Performance Series

Seventeen-year-old piano prodigy Eric Lu will open the 2015-16 Living Music Performance Series at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church in Carefree with a 4 p.m. concert Saturday, Nov. 21.

Mr. Lu began studying piano at age 6. He has performed at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the famed Salle Cortot in Paris, according to a press release.

This past February, he won first place at the Ninth National Chopin Piano Competition in Miami. The prize includes $75,000 along with a concert tour in the U.S. and abroad.

In 2014, he received first prize at the Ninth Moscow International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists.

Tickets for the concert are $30 at the door, with reduced prices for advanced sales. Student tickets (with ID) are $15.
