Allstate Insurance Company donated $5,000 to Girls on the Run serving Maricopa and Pinal counties as part of the Hot Chocolate 15k/5k event Sunday, Dec. 2, at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

Allstate teamed up Girls on the Run of Scottsdale, a physical activity-based positive youth development program for young girls, and a local Heart & Sole middle school group to lead the way for runners in the 5k portion of the race, according to a release.

The donation was made as part of “Allstate’s ongoing commitment to giving back to local communities and supporting the next generation of female runners,” the release stated.

Allstate and RAM Racing, an endurance race producer, have partnered on the race series that takes place throughout the year in various parts of the country.

“Allstate is always looking for new ways to support our local communities, connect with people and provide expert protection for our customers so they can continue to pursue the things they love in life,” stated Pam Hollander, vice president of marketing at Allstate.
