The annual Desert Ball put on by Desert Foundation Auxiliary will once again be a celebration of family, friends and a tradition that gives back to the community.

This year, 11 debutantes from the city of Scottsdale, Town of Paradise Valley and Arcadia area will be presented to the community at the ball, according to a press release.

These young women are all freshman in college including three young women whose mothers are current DFA members.

This year’s Chairmen Joan Raskin and Colleen Katz are working to ensure that the 51st Annual Ball will be splendid.

“It’s truly a huge group effort that makes this event so extraordinary,” said Ms. Raskin in the press release.

The traditional event is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 22, at The Phoenician Resort, 6000 E. Camelback Road in Scottsdale. Presentations begin at 8 p.m.

Individual tickets are $225 for juniors and $400 for adults.

While the debutantes are being introduced, guests will dine on a gourmet meal.  White House Design Studio will provide the décor and floral arrangements, and The Hamptons will perform live music.

Proceeds from this years’ ball will be distributed to Feeding Matters, Rosie’s House and Treasure House.
