HMA Public Relations has announced that north Scottsdale resident Sara Goodwin has joined the agency as an account coordinator.

As an account coordinator, Ms. Goodwin is responsible for assisting with digital communications, media relations, social media management and event planning for the agency’s diverse client base and providing support to HMA’s account team, according to a press release.

“We are excited to have Sara join our team,” said Abbie S. Fink, vice president/general manager at HMA Public Relations, in the release. “As a journalism graduate, she has a large understanding of that industry, and she also brings knowledge of digital and social trends gleaned through a variety of internships with media outlets and agencies.”

Ms. Goodwin graduated from the University of Maryland earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. During her time at UMD, she held several editorial internships with publications including Times Media Group, Arizona Foothills Magazine and DC Magazine where she wrote many articles for the print and online editions.

During her final semester, she moved away from journalism and interned with communications firm kglobal where she helped manage the social media campaigns for several clients, worked on a crisis account and supported business development outreach.

Additionally, she was the public relations chair for the Panhellenic Association, the governing body of the campus sororities.

In her leisure time, Ms. Goodwin enjoys hiking, reading, and finding new TV shows to watch. She loves to travel and see the different cultures of new cities and countries.
