McDonald’s restaurant at 4505 E. Cactus Rd. will host a fundraiser 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, in honor of Jose Perez, the 19-year-old teenager killed in a car crash on Sept. 28.

One hundred percent of the sales from Big Macs® and Quarter Pounders® will go to the Perez family to help with funeral costs, according to a press release.

Mr. Perez, a manager at the Cactus and Tatum McDonald’s, worked his way up from a crew person to swing manager in the past four years, according to the release.

“Jose was a shining example of commitment and hard work,” stated Jerry Wernau, McDonald’s owner and operator, stated in the release.  “He will be greatly missed by his fellow McDonald’s employees and the many customers that knew him.”
