The city of Scottsdale Aviation Department is proposing to rename Butherus Drive to Aviation Way from Scottsdale Road to Airport Drive.

This is being done to promote the airport and aviation heritage through aviation-related street naming, according to a press release.

This proposal aligns with the City Council adopted Scottsdale Greater Airpark Character Area Plan.

The Airport Advisory Commission is scheduled to consider the proposed street name change at its regularly scheduled meeting, which starts at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, Scottsdale Aviation Business Center, 15255 N. Airport Drive, second floor meeting room.

The agenda is posted soon on the Airport Advisory Commission webpage.

The City Council is scheduled to consider adopting Resolution 11244 to rename Butherus Drive to Aviation Way at its regularly-scheduled meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the City Hall Kiva, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.

The meeting agenda and council packet will be posted closer to the meeting date on the City Council webpage.
