‘Beat the Heat’ program seeks donations to assist seniors

The Via Linda and Granite Reef senior centers provide “Beat the Heat” care packages each June for Scottsdale’s isolated, frail and homebound seniors.

Donations are being accepted for these items: new reusable water bottles, nutritional supplement drinks (Ensure/Bounce regular and no sugar, Gatorade), bottled water, small healthy snack items (pretzels, raisins, protein bars), unused personal hygiene items, stamps and grocery store gift cards for a minimum of $35.

Residents can drop off donations at the Via Linda Senior Center, 10440 E. Via Linda, by Friday, June 5.
