Become a lifeguard this summer; training begins Jan. 25

Did you know you only have to be 15 years old to become a lifeguard?

Get a jump on a job for the summer by registering for the StarGuard lifeguard training session, that begins Jan. 25. The class takes place on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings for two weeks.

Once certified, students are eligible to apply for a lifeguard position with the city of Scottsdale and other agencies who utilize lifeguards.

Lifeguards currently certified in American Red Cross or Ellis Lifeguarding who would like to “rollover” to a StarGuard certification, can do so by taking a class 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, at Eldorado Aquatic Center, 2301 N. Miller Road in Scottsdale.

Learn more about both training opportunities by visiting and search “lifeguard classes”.
