City seeks comments on downtown Scottsdale pedestrian project priorities

The Scottsdale Transportation Department is in the process of finalizing a list of recommended projects that will be presented at the Transportation Commission meeting on Thursday, Nov. 17.

The commission will then vote whether to support or modify the list, according to a press release.

Projects under consideration include improving continuity of walking and bike routes, increasing Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility, adding pedestrian ramps, widening sidewalks, removing obstructions and improving crossing locations, among others.

The Transportation Department is hosting three meetings in November where the public can ask questions and provide comments about both the projects and locations prioritized.

Meetings are slated to be:

  • 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, at Scottsdale Stadium Store, 7408 E. Osborn Road
  • 4:30-6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, at Scottsdale Stadium Store, 7408 E. Osborn Road
  • 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, at Community Design Studio, 7506 E. Indian School Road, suite 110.

The public can also provide written comment or up to three minutes of public comment at the Nov. 17 Transportation Commission Meeting — 6 p.m. at City Hall Kiva, 3939 N. Drinkwater Boulevard — or written comment via the Commission’s online public comment form at https://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/boards/transportation-commission/public-comment.
