Council to mull Waste Management Phoenix Open parking contract with Thunderbirds

The Scottsdale City Council will vote as part of the consent agenda on whether or not to enter into a five-year parking agreement with Thunderbird Charities at WestWorld of Scottsdale during its Friday, Dec. 2 city council meeting.

According to a city staff proposal, public parking is in high demand for the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the previous contract is up with WestWorld after the event concluded in 2016.

Therefore, the Thunderbirds are looking for a new contract that will run from 2017 to 2021. The new contract would include the use Lot K at WestWorld for the event.

Additionally, the proposal states the Thunderbirds will take care of any costs that may arise such as dust control, security, lighting, parking attendants, shuttle service and daily cleanup.
